We liked that we didn’t have to wait for the hot water like we do with a regular electric kettle when we wanted a drink.

The Breville VKT111 Hotcup can hold two and a half litres when empty, but it only needs two litres to be complete. When we tested it, the most significant amount of hot water took 34 seconds after we pressed the button. The halfway amount took about 30 seconds.

But here’s the tricky part – we needed to figure out how much water to put in our tea mug! So, we decided to click the button twice for a big tea mug, leaving some space for milk (even though we didn’t have any). This way, we could be reassured about whether there was enough water. We filled it up only when we needed more during our test.

This Breville Hotcup hot water machine looks very cool. It’s simple to use, and we believe it helps save energy. Why did we pick it? In a regular kettle, you usually heat more water than you need. We were worried it might spill the water, but it didn’t. You can stop the water if you only want half a cup. And it gets boiling, which is excellent! We did a lot of searching and found that Amazon has the best price.

The Breville VKT111 Hotcup with Variable Dispenser has a sleek design and a great concept. During the test, we found that sometimes water also got into the Cup Size Selector dial while filling the kettle. Because the distance between the dial and the entrance is less, and there is no such thing as a protection wall in between. Due to this, there may be a problem in its circuit or function after some time.

The instructions said to rinse the system thoroughly by running all the tank water through it before using the system; it still tasted a little tangy, so we rinsed it twice.

If you’ve placed a different-sized cup under the spout, not paying attention can make the drip tray seem smaller if you have an overflow. “Removable, adjustable drip tray means no mess on worktop” is not entirely accurate. It took us a lot of effort to figure out how to adjust the drip tray.

Although it was also very disappointing for us in our tests, we found it is not for prominent families. If you have more members in your family, you may have to wait longer for your drink. For a large family, it is a waste of both time and money.
